Cyclist Lance Armstrong has agreed to pay the federal government $5 million to settle a lawsuit tied to his years competing professionally while sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service. In 2012 he was stripped of seven Tour de France titles and later admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs. The deal was announced Thursday and resolves the biggest legal issue still pending against the Austin resident, the Associated Press reports. A trial had been scheduled to begin May 7.
