CHANDIGARH: The efforts made by the
Haryana State Health Resource Centre (HSHRC) to improve the quality of healthcare services at government facilities across the state were the focus point at the national convention held in RML Auditorium, New Delhi, on Friday where 18 health facilities of
Haryana were awarded by Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, for having been nationally certified as per the
National Quality Assurance Programme (NQAP).
Disclosing this, Dr Sonia Trikha, Executive Director, HSHRC, said that earlier, Union Minister of Health, JP Nadda, had felicitated community health centre (CHC), Raipur Rani which achieved first rank among CHCs in Haryana.
She said that the union minister had also falicitated the government facilities which won 'Kayakalp' award as per ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. Under the 'Kayakalp' Programme, 13 PHCs of Haryana achieved first rank while 25 PHCs, 1 SDH (Ballabhgarh) and 5 District Hospitals (Panchkula, Gurugram, Rohtak, Ambala and Faridabad) received commendation awards.
Out of the 18 health falicitated awarded today, UPHC Krishnanagar Gamri, Kurukshetra, has been ranked 1st Urban Primary Health Centre in the country to be certified as per the NQAP.
The other 17 facilities include four district hospitals- Panchkula, Gurugram, Faridabad, Rohtak; one Community Health Centre--Gannaur (Sonipat); 13 Primary Health Centres- Panjokhara (Ambala), Boh (Ambala), Saha (Ambala), Pinjore (Panchkula), Kot (Panchkula), Barwala (Panchkula), Murthal (Sonipat), Raisina (Kaithal), Dayalpur (Faridabad), Chhainsa (Faridabad), Bhagal (Kaithal) and Bhadson (Karnal).
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has constituted various programmes for Quality Improvement (QI), including National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), Kayakalp, Swachh Swasth Sarvatra (Strengthening health centers in open defecation-free blocks), LaQshya (Labour room quality Improvement Initiative) to assist the states in implementing Quality Assurance Programme for the public health facilities.
Implementation of these programmes is led by the HSHRC through
State Quality Assurance Unit at the headquarters, and District Quality Assurance Units at 328 facilities in the districts, including district hospitals (20), sub-district hospitals (23), Community
Health Centres (79) and Primary Health Centres (206) in Haryana, Dr Trikha added.
