'Overwhelmed' Postal Worker Arrested After 17,000 Pieces Of Undelivered Mail Found

A 16-year veteran of the US Postal Service said he was just too “overwhelmed” to deliver the mail.????Police arrested Aleksey Germash after post office management noticed 20 bags of undelivered mail sitting in the postal carrier’s car!????Investigators found 17,000 pieces of undelivered mail, some dating as far back as 2005, stashed between Germash’s car, his locker at the Brooklyn post office, and his home.????

As inconvenient as it may be not to receive your mail, going to jail is definitely worse.

While Germash is currently out on $32,000 bail, if found guilty of unlawfully destroying, detaining or delaying post, he could be sentenced up to 5 years in prison.
