Virginia Myers Hunter, 76, of Brookneal, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at home. She was the wife of Stafford F. Hunter. Mrs. Hunter was born in Halifax County on September 11, 1941, a daughter of the late Sydnor Myers and Annie Wynn Myers. She was a member of Lighthouse Community Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jerry F. Hunter of Brookneal and Gary W. Hunter (Samantha) of Nathalie; one brother, William "Billy" Myers (Peggy) of Hurt; two sisters, Betty Booker and Hilda Waller (Kenneth) all of Nathalie. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Winston, Carl, and James Myers; and four sisters, Edna James, Margaret Francis, Frances Anderson and Helen Angel. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Lighthouse Community Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Gooch and William Myers. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and at the residence other times. Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal, is assisting the family.
