Bill Concerning Future Of Talihina Vets Center On Governor's Desk

LEFLORE COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A bill now on Governor Mary Fallin's desk that could move the Oklahoma Veterans Center hospital out of Talihina.

The Oklahoma Veterans Facility Investment Act of 2018 authorizes a new facility to replace the one in Talihina, by either building a new building or refurbishing an existing building.

The hospital has been under scrutiny after two Vietnam veterans died there.  One died by choking on a plastic bag, and another was septic and found with maggots in his body.
