STEM students at one local college bring their ideas to life

WVU Tech held their Student Design Exposition Thursday. The event was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Carter Hall Auditorium. It was organized by the student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. This featured the research and design of students in STEM fields. WVU Tech student, Fernando Rivero, and his team showcased their work. He told 59 News that this has been an incredible opportunity.

"It feels amazing. You get a lot of experience, knowledge, you learn a lot. I've been a member for already three years and I've learned a lot. When you go to competitions, organizers give you tips and they help you," Rivero said.

WVU Tech professors and industry representatives served as judges during the exposition.
