Trivial issue triggers group clash in Tankara

Rajkot: A trivial issue of placing benches provided by the government in the public place triggered a clash between two groups of different communities in Tankara of Morbi district on Friday. Six persons were injured in the clash.
The police said the groups clashed after an altercation broke out between them over the issue of placing benches.

“Members of the both groups attacked each other and indulged in fisticuffs. The clash left Javid Ghanchi (28), Abdul Hussein (30), Kasam Adam (35), Asif Daud (19) and Amad Noora (65) and Ramzan Kareem injured,” an official from Tankara police station said.

After the clash, Tankara police station officials swung into action and swiftly brought the situation under control. However, the clash made a deep impact on the town as shops downed their shutters and traders observed a bandh.
