Since the World Liver Day has just passed by, here are some foods that safeguard this essential organ

Garlic

The sulphur compounds in garlic are essential for supporting the liver and activate the enzymes that are responsible for flushing out toxins and waste from the body.

Walnut

Walnuts are an excellent source of an amino acid called arginine that helps in liver cleansing. These nuts are also rich in Omega-3 fatty acids that support liver detoxification.

Apples

Apples are high in anti-oxidant content which detoxifies the liver and protects it from various ailments. Apples are rich in pectin, the soluble fibre that helps remove cholesterol from the blood, which helps your liver big time.
