The drama on The Resident surrounding Lily's (Violett Beane) continues to build and in Monday's (April 23) episode, Nic (Emily VanCamp) receives the direct fallout.

Lily's family is suing the hospital for wrongful death, but they've named Nic in the suit. The higher ups are responding to the situation by refusing to allow Nic to see patients. Bear in mind, all of this is happening before the autopsy results come in that should prove that Dr. Hunter (Melina Kanakaredes) issued Lily a chemo overdose.

The strange thing is that Nic isn't the only one named in the suit, but we don't know who else is getting in trouble or if anyone else will be suspended from seeing patients until the investigation is over. If Nic is the only one being put through this kind of ringer, is she who the hospital is setting up as a fall guy?

Nic doesn't even have time to process the information before she and management find out that a patient is on fire in the ER. The insanity never ends on this show.

The Resident airs Mondays at 9/8c on Fox.
