IPL 2018 CSK vs RR: Watson hammers 106 to guide Chennai to 204/5

Pune: Owing to a fiery 106-run knock by Shane Watson, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted a mammoth total of 204/5 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium here on Friday.

Watson scored 106 runs off 57 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes, while his opening partner Ambati Rayudu departed early at the individual score of 12 runs off 8 balls with 2 boundaries.

Coming back in the squad after recovering from injury, Suresh Raina was looking in great touch. He scored a blistering 46-run knock off only 29 balls with 9 boundaries.

Skipper MS Dhoni (5 off 3) and Sam Billings (3 off 7), however, failed to click today. Dwayne Bravo once again played an important cameo of 24 runs off only 16 balls with four fours. Ravindra Jadeja scored 2 runs off the only ball he faced.

Shreyas Gopal bowled a magnificent spell of four overs giving away only 20 runs for 3 wickets while Ben Laughlin conceded 38 runs in his four for 2 wickets.

Stuart Binny, Gowtham, Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat remained wicket-less and conceded too many runs.

It is going to be a huge task for RR to chase down such a huge target of 205 runs as they will be chasing in the IPL 2018 for the very first time.
