CBI searches seven places in disproportionate assets case

The CBI on Thursday carried out searches at seven places in connection with cases involving senior Prashant Kumar Sinha, an said.

"CBI teams carried out searches at seven places connected to Sinha, a former Chief Vigilance of (BCCL) who is facing charge of amassing huge wealth between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2015," the (CBI) said here.

The said the searches were conducted at three places in and Haryana's Gurugram and two places each in Bihar's and Jharkhand's

The CBI had on Tuesday registered a case against the for amassing wealth totalling over Rs 71 lakh that was disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The CBI alleged that Sinha was involved in illegal financial transactions in his name and those of others, including family members.
