Senior Emily Gant threw a perfect game as the Central Crossing High School softball team defeated Dublin Coffman 6-0 on April 18 in OCC-Central Division play.

The right-hander struck out 17 batters as the Comets improved to 10-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.

“Emily was in command and spun the ball well,” coach Rona Dorsey said. “She was hitting all zones and maintained good speed throughout the game.”

Chloe Corum had a solo home run to lead the offense.

On April 25, Gant had 30 strikeouts in a 3-0, 10-inning victory over Pickerington Central. It was the most strikeouts in a 10-inning game in state history, according to the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
