Chief Minister Raghubar Das today appealed to people of the State to realise the dream of Clean India by putting in their efforts under Gram Swaraj Campaign in Khajuri of Garhwa district.

He called upon the masses to make people aware and self-indulge in the construction of toilets and also encouraged villagers who built toilets in their houses.

While addressing a gathering on the occasion of ‘Swachchhta Diwas’ under Gram Swaraj Campaign, he said that the Government is making concrete efforts to fulfill clean India mission. “We should take resolution that our State will be made open defecation free by October 2, 2018.

With the help of public participation 75 per cent work has been successfully completed. On the closing ceremony of Gram Swaraj campaign on May 5, 2018 we have to achieve 100 per cent implementation in 252 scheduled caste majority villages,” he said.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed assets of Rs 14.97 crore to beneficiaries and laid the foundation for new schemes of Rs 17.53 crore, provided Rs 1 crore each to women aid groups, Pooja, Gulab, Sarsawati, Suryamukhi, rewarded those who worked better in the rural area under Clean India Mission and inaugurated Small Rural Water Supply Scheme in Amar Shahid Gram Madgari.

The CM said that human resource is the power of the Government and Jharkhand is in the first place in the successful implementation of Clean India Mission programme. Providing drinking water to every household through pipeline by 2020 is the priority of government and government is also making efforts so that public welfare schemes reach people living in remote areas.

Das lauded the contribution of women self help groups in construction of toilets. He also inspected toilets in Khajuri villages and said that construction of 75 percent of toilets has been completed in Jharkhand. He said that free LPG connection under Ujjwala schemes will be given to poor families, people living in remote villages, schedule caste and schedule tribes.

The Government aims to make Jharkhand prosperous, healthy and clean by 2022. Youths are being trained under Skill development program and employment is being created in different sectors. Making youth self employed in their locality is the priority of Government.

The CM said that “ Village development committee is being formed in villages and through this plans for development of villages, allocation of funds from Government will be done. With committee villagers will get rid of brokers and middleman. Implementation of health related schemes in rural areas is also the priority of the Government.”
