Crafts mela ‘Shilpotsav 2018’ a huge draw

The historical shopping hub of the city Gauhar Mahal got embellished with ‘Shilpotsav 2018’. The craft mela that began here on April 13 is drawing huge crowds and is evoking a good response. The fair is all about traditional and ethnic stuff altogether for the fashion freaks of the city.

Set in the rustic backdrop of the historical building, the fair witnessed a huge footfall on Wednesday at all the 40 stalls from across the country. The fair will be continued till Thursday at Gauhar Mahal.

The fair is adorned with exquisite range of handicraft and handloom materials from different states of the country. Around 50 artisans of handicraft and handloom materials have participated in the fair. They have got the specialty of their region attracting a huge crowd at their respective stalls.

There are artisans from 15 States of the country which includes Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Orrisa, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.

The cultural shopping hub becomes more exotic with 25000 varieties of handicraft and handloom materials. There are materials with the starting range of Rs 50 to Rs 30,000 as well. The sparkling and fizzy shades of different regions are enchanting the customers and they are taking the pleasure to shop there.

A remarkable variety of dress materials, imitation jewellery, foot-wears, saris, mens and children wears, household materials, rugs and not to forget mentioning about the warm Kashmiri shawls are vying to attract the buyers. The traditional and years old dress materials from Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh is captivating the interest of female participants.
