Emergency crews search river following report of man falling from bridge

Police and fire services are searching the South Saskatchewan River, following a call that a man had been seen landing in the river from Saskatoon's Broadway Bridge on Thursday evening.

Police received the report from two witnesses, who said they saw a person fall into the water

Police and fire services are searching the South Saskatchewan River after a call came in that a man had been seen falling into the river from Saskatoon's Broadway Bridge on Thursday evening.

Two people called Saskatoon Police at about 5:43 p.m. CST to report they had just seen a person fall into the water from the bridge. They reported they believed it was a man who fell.

Police officers are currently searching the shoreline, with help from the Air Support Unit and ground personnel. 

Police said they will continue to provide updates as they become available.
