Accountant says she was told Sheena didn’t have access to internet in the U.S.

Indrani Mukerjea’s employee and accountant Kajal Sharma told a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Wednesday that she forged Sheena Bora’s signature on her resignation letter at the behest of Ms. Mukerjea.

Ms. Sharma told the court that Ms. Mukerjea had told her to forge Sheena’s signature on the letter as Sheena was in the U.S. and did not have access to internet.

Ms. Sharma’s deposition about the instructions Ms. Mukerjea gave her revealed that the date of the resignation letter sent to Mumbai Metro One was after Sheena’s death.

Shyamvar Rai, Ms. Mukerjea’s driver and an accused-turned-approver, had earlier told the court that in 2012, as per instructions from Ms. Mukerjea, Ms. Sharma created a Skype account for him and gave him money from time to time.

The charge sheet filed by the CBI says Ms. Mukerjea made a Skype call to Ms. Sharma in Mumbai in March 2012, instructing her to set up a Skype account for Mr. Rai and teach him to operate it. Ms. Sharma accordingly created a Skype ID from the office laptop, and taught Mr. Rai how to operate the account. Once Mr. Rai learned to Skype chat, Ms. Mukerjea instructed Ms. Sharma to ensure that no one was present in the office during her conversations with Mr. Rai.

Before leaving for the United Kingdom on April 9, 2012, Ms. Mukerjea had directed Ms. Sharma to give money to Mr. Rai as per his requirement.

Two days before the murder, on April 22, 2012, Ms. Mukerjea called Ms. Sharma asking her to book a car from AM Motors to travel within the city.

So far in the trial, the entire evidence of Mr. Rai and police sub-inspector Ganesh Dalvi has been recorded.
