Joining the Resort’s Wellness team is Will Donnelly, a nationally recognised and certified yoga teacher and inspirational writer. A true pioneer in his field, Will brings more than 17 years’ experience teaching yoga, meditation and wellness to Four Seasons Resort Lanai.
His yoga practice and teachings emphasise a variety of styles, including Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa/Flow Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Mindfulness Meditation, and the healing art of White Tantra Yoga /Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. In addition, Will specialises in private and group yoga instruction, having begun his career teaching yoga to staff at Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center, as well as staff at City of Hope Cancer Center, both in the in the Los Angeles, California area. Will assists beginners in discovering the profound beauty of the practice, and he also encourages long-term practitioners to get re-inspired by deepening their understanding of their practice.
Will is also a certified AntiGravity yoga instructor, and helps students take flight in bold new ways in the new studio, where guests can find a dynamic spread of ten aerial yoga hammocks. These silk hammocks welcome all levels in daily AntiGravity Yoga sessions, available for a fee, that boast many stress and pain-relieving benefits. Participants share they have more freedom of movement, which allows for greater flexibility and deeper stretches, build stronger muscles working against gravity, work their brains undertaking a new challenge and, like traditional yoga, enjoy stress relief from the session.
Will is certified through both Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) and YogaWorks, and blends these two different lineages beautifully through his fun and approachable signature Practical Yoga. For the past eight years, Donnelly has focused on yoga classes, yoga retreats and therapeutic journaling classes, offering students of all levels transformative, invigorating workouts that also profoundly uplift, nurture and heal.
He co-created and co-hosted the yoga–reality television series Guru2Go on fitTV in partnership with Discovery Communications and later produced a popular workout DVD Practical Yoga for Everyday People. Building upon the Practical Yoga program, Will developed online yoga and wellness content for a variety of websites and newsletters including AOL and EverydayHealth and recently published his first book, Practical Yoga’s Wisdom for Everyday People, a collection of inspirational essays.
Will’s specific intention is to help people tap into their spirit and find health and radiance for their everyday lives. He reminds us that the profound yet practical practice of yoga is for everyday people who live in a modern world, especially those who may think yoga is beyond their grasp.
