No heat wave conditions predicted for next few days

The city received thundershowers in the evening, even as hot weather conditions were experienced in most parts of the Andhra Pradesh with many places recording 2 to 4 degree Celsius above normal temperature of that particular place on Wednesday.

The hot weather conditions are likely to continue for the next few days due to the blowing of southerly winds. “There are no heat wave conditions in AP at the moment and heat wave is unlikely in the next few days going by the current indications,” Director of the Cyclone Warning Centre K. Ramachandra Rao said.

The maximum temperatures recorded (in degrees Celsius) at various places in the State on Wednesday are: Tuni – 40, Vijayawada Airport – 40, Nellore – 39, Kakinada – 38, Ongole, Kavali, Machilipatnam – 36, Bapatla and Narsapur – 35.

Rayalaseema: Kurnool and Anantapur – 42 and Tirupati – 41.

Thundershowers were experienced at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts. Rolugunta and Kothakota received 4 cm each and Malliveedu, Kantakapalli, Lakshminarasammpeta and Uttarapalli 3 cm each till Wednesday evening.
