PATNA: The
Patna high court on Thursday rejected the
regular bail petition of AVN school director
Ramashish Singh in the
Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) question leak scam that rocked the state in February last year.
Additional public prosecutor Ajay Mishra said that the bench of Justice Prabhat Kumar Jha rejected the bail petition of Singh.
He said that that the bench of
Justice Nilu Agrawal on Wednesday had rejected the regular bail petitions of Anant Preet Singh Brar, Kaushal Singh and Rakesh Ranjan, who were also accused in the scam.
“Ramashish and Anant are among the main accused in the scam. It was the AVN school from where question paper was leaked. Strong evidences were present in the case diary against Ramashish on basis of which his bail was rejected,” Mishra said.
He said that Kaushal and Rakesh were touts who were in contact with Ramashish and other people to lure candidates for selling question papers after taking money.
“Enough evidences were present against Kaushal and Rakesh which surfaced on basis of call detail records (CDR). Anant’s involvement, the printer of OMR sheets for the BSSC, was also evident through CDR and othe evidences,” he added.
The scam had surfaced on February 5 examination when question paper of four phased intermediate level clerical grade examination being conducted by BSSC to fill vacancies of 13120 posts in state government department surfaced on various social media platforms.
The examination was later scrapped by CM Nitish Kumar. BSSC chairman and IAS officer Sudhir Kumar is still behind bars for his alleged involvement in the scam.
