Ujjain: Two boys, aged 3 and 5 years, died after drowning in the Khan river on Wednesday. Krishna Malviya and Balram Malviya were residents Naikhedi village on Indore road. They were playing in the river when they slipped and drowned.
Seeing the boys drowning, their mother Lalita Bai jumped into river to save them, but failed. Villagers saw Lalita Bai jumping and rushed to the scene. Lalita Bai was safely pulled out of the river and Dial 100 as well as divers were called.
The police recovered the bodies of both children. According to Nanakheda police staff, it was an accident and not an attempt on the part Lalita Bai to commit suicide along with her children.
