Surat boy wins 3 medals in chess championship
SURAT: Jeet Jain, a fide master from the city, has made Surat proud once again by winning three medals in the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2018 held at Chiang Mai in Thailand from April 1 to April 10.
Jeet along with Mitrabha Guha from West Bengal and Manish from Tamil Nadu won the gold medal by scoring highest 17.5 points in Blitz Asian Youth team chess championship.

After a tough fight with Vietnam, the Indian boys bagged silver in the rapid Asian youth team chess championship. Keeping the winning momentum, the under-18 boys team also bagged the silver in the standard team championship.

More than 500 players from 26 countries participated in the Asian Youth event.
