The English Premier League 2017-18 saw Manchester city bag the title.
Manchester City dominate the Premier League team of the year as decided by the Professional Footballers’ Association.

FORWARDS-
HARRY KANE (Tottenham Hotspurs): He’s had to endure some internet infamy over the past few weeks, but having scored 26 goals in the Premier League alone Kane is the league’s best ‘striker’.

MOHAMED SALAH (Liverpool): The winger is most likely to win player of the year after a season of being in the right place at the right time – a lot – and leading Liverpool to the Champions League semifinals.

SERGIO AGÜERO (Manchester City): Perhaps the only player on this list whose position can have gone to someone else even though the Argentine has had a pretty good season.

MIDFIELDERS-
DAVID SILVA (Manchester City): One of two indispensable men in the title-winning team, Silva – already an accomplished player – has found levels that he did not previously exhibit.

KEVIN DE BRUYNE (Manchester City): He’s in the running for player of the year after a season of incredulous midfield play and a few ridiculous goals.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN (Tottenham Hotspurs): The simplicity of Eriksen’s play – so consistent as well – often hides just how good he is in finding spaces and his teammates.

DEFENDERS-
Right-back KYLE WALKER (Manchester City): The former Tottenham man was brought by Pep Guardiola to mould a defence the manager could build his team on and Walker delivered.

Centre-back JAN VERTONGHEN (Tottenham Hotspurs): The Belgian has been a top central defender for a few seasons now and deserves to be in the team of the year for consistent performances.

Centre-back NICOLÁS OTAMENDI (Manchester City): Perhaps a surprise after last year’s defensive failings at the club, he’s improved drastically this year to lead Guardiola’s defensive line.

Left-back MARCOS ALONSO (Chelsea): Though a wing-back rather than a traditional full-back, the young Spaniard has been one of the few stars who’s continued to improve under Antonio Conte.

GOALKEEPER-
DAVID DE GEA (Manchester United): Just as last season, he’s often been quite literally the difference between a win and a loss for Jose Mourinho.
