Netflix rolls out video previews on iOS app, Android coming soonNetflix has started rolling out video previews on its iOS app today with the Android app getting it soon.

Each preview will be about 30 seconds and will be shown in a Snapchat stories-like vertical slideshow format. The company had announced this feature last month, after launching it on its TV platform last year.

Users can view the previews through a dedicated row on the app home screen and tap play on any preview to start watching the content or add to their watchlist. These trailers will be personalized based on the user's viewing history.

This feature could play a key role in improving the discovery of original content for new and existing subscribers on Netflix.

Earlier this week, Netflix added 7.4 million new customers for the January to March quarter, taking its total base to 125 million subscribers. This was partly driven by the company's original content push, including science fiction series "Altered Carbon" and Marvel action drama "Jessica Jones" among others.

It has outlined a massive $8 billion budget for content in 2018 and plans to create 700 original television series and movies this year.
