BREAKING: Cheshire school evacuated after ‘suspicious package’ found - bomb squad on scene

A PRIMARY school in Widnes, Cheshire has been evacuated this afternoon after a “suspicious package” was discovered in the town.

Pupils were moved out of Fairfield Primary School after police received reports of a package in a nearby building, the Runcorn and Widnes World reported.

Police rushed to Peel House Lane at around 12.20pm and the bomb squad has subsequently been deployed.

The suspicious package was discovered in Ubique Barracks, which is adjacent to the school.

The children were evacuated as a precaution and all of the pupils have been accounted for.
