Indore: There is good news for the passengers travelling to Bihar and West Bengal. The train Indore-Howrah-Indore Kshipra Express train will run daily with pantry car shortly. At present, it runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Railway minister Piyush Goyal had made the announcement after participating in the 63rd National Railway Week Awards Function 2018 in Bhopal on Monday. The minister also announced that a pantry car will be attached to Kshipra Express. Gunjan Gupta, Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of Western Central Railway said a notification in this regard will be released after which a train schedule will be declared.
Nagesh Namjoshi, ex-member of Passenger Amenities Committee of Railway Board said that during city visit of Railway Minister Goyal on March 17, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had handed over a written note to Goyal demanding daily operation of Kshipra Express train, where Goyal has assured to conduct the test.
Earlier on September 15, during Meeting of General Manager of Western Railway with MPs of the region, Namjoshi had put forward the demand of adding a pantry car with the train. The train departs from the city railway station at 23.30 hours. He said that the daily operation of the train will help in meeting demand of people of Bihar who live in the city and have been demanding for a long time for daily run of Indore-Patna train.
Also, it will help passengers of Jain community to visit Sammed Shikhar (Bihar). For Bihar, there are three trains on three days. On March 17, during visit to the city, Goyal had already announced increase of frequency of one more day of Indore-Patna-Indore train from twice a week to thrice a week.
