The CM's order comes in the wake of recent complaints by BJP MLAs and the party office bearers about the non-implementation of the ban on sale of properties in the communally disturb area act.
The chief minister reviewed the status of complaint in this regard and expressed displeasure over non-implementation of the act by the local authorities properly.
Gujarat Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and provision for protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturb Areas Act, 1991 gives powers to put ban on any property in the disturb area to person of any other religion.
Collectors put ban on selling and buying properties by Hindu to Muslim or Muslim to Hindu without prior permission.
The above act is in force in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and many others parts of the state which claimed to be for controlling the ghettoization of the cities on the basis of religious grounds.
