Neighbour rapes specially-abled minor girl in Delhi, circulates videos on WhatsApp

A specially-abled, minor girl was allegedly raped by three men in Delhi's Rohini area. The mother of the victim found out about the incident after she saw some videos of her daughter on WhatsApp.

According to the police, accused Bunty and two of his friends were arrested on Monday night.

The 3 accused men filmed the rape and circulated it on social apps.

"Bunty has been booked for rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), and his friends under the relevant sections of IPC and the IT Act for their involvement in the crime," the police officer told IANS.

The incident was reported by the family of the 12-year-old victim after they saw some videos on WhatsApp.

The minor stays with her family in Rohini's Mangolpur Kalan.

"Bunty, who is a neighbour of the victim, on the day of crime took her to some places in good faith in the locality.

"Finally, he took the girl to a community center and at a secluded place committed the crime in front of two of his friends. The scene of the crime was identified through the video they had made," the police officer said.

The victim's family alleged that Bunty's family members have been putting pressure on them to withdraw the case as they belong to a powerful family.

"Accused Bunty is a powerful person and his other family members have a stronghold in the area. They are mounting pressure on us to withdraw rape case against Bunty after his arrest. They are also pressurising us to leave Mangolpur Kalan locality," victim's mother said.
