Minister roasted over SHOCKING revelation ALL NHS trusts have failed cyber attack tests
BRITAIN is bracing itself for a Russian cyber attack, but nearly 200 NHS institutions have failed cyber security tests since the WannaCry ransomware attack last year.
The NHS was found to have failed all security tests in nearly 200 institutions across the country, as the UK government revealed a pledge for £15 million to strengthen cyber security defences after Russia threatens a cyber attack.
Matt Hancock, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport said: “There is clearly much more that needs to be done and the NHS has made improvements since the WannaCry attack last year.
“One of the challenges in cyber security is that the criminals and the malicious actors who are going to trying to harm our cyber security are moving fast.
“You have to run to stay still, you can’t just make one update you have to be constantly updating.”

Being cyber secure is a matter of constant vigilance and that applies to the NHS too
Prime Minister, Theresa May has pledged £15 million to improve cyber security defences in the Commonwealth nations, after Russia threatened a cyber attack following the UK’s air strikes in Syria.
Mr Hancock added: “This is something we are always pushing forward but there is more work to be done.
“Each NHS trust is independent and is responsible for its own systems.
“The warnings have also come from government and the NHS needs to make sure it gets its systems properly secure.
“This applies to the work we do in government ourselves, it applies to businesses and it applies to individuals.
“Being cyber secure is a matter of constant vigilance and that applies to the NHS too.”
The package for the Commonwealth includes a £5.5m fund for low and middle income member nations to conduct comprehensive national cyber security reviews prior to the Commonwealth’s next meeting in 2020.
GCHQ and the FBI released a joint statement on the issue saying they believed Russia is aiming to launch a large cyber attack on the UK and the US’s “critical infrastructure”.
