Annual revision of voter list

Bhopal:The State Election Commission has declared the annual revision programme of photo-voter list of urban bodies and panchayats-2018. State Election Commissioner R Parshuram has given instructions to all collectors to publish the photo of voter list as per the prescribed schedule.The public publication on the of photo voter list of Municipal Ward and the Gram Panchayat and other prescribed places will be held on May 30, 2018. Claims and objections related to voter list will be taken from the May 30 to June 8 at the claim-objection center. The settlement of claim-objection will be done by June 15. The final publication of voter list will be done on July 2, 2018.

Guv extends greetings

Bhopal:Governor Anandiben Patel extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti. Smt. Patel said that Bhagwan Parshuram is an eternal Devrishi. Son of a rishi, Parshuram has left an indelible imprint on Arya culture of his sovereignty and valour. Governor wished the people peace, prosperity and progress.

Bhel inaugurates e patrika

Bhopal:In a simple programme held at ITS Conference Hall BHEL Bhopal DK Thakur Executive Director, BHEL Bhopal inaugurated the first E Patrika of Fabrication Division in presence of all GMs, DROs and HODs.Speaking on the occasion, Thakur applauded the efforts of Fabrication Division and urged other departments to attempt for their departments.This E- Patrika of Fabrication Division is an attempt of Fabrication Division to show case the ideas and efforts of different teams translated into actual changes in processes, facilities and products in their areas of work during 2017-2018. These 48 selected improvement projects that the young employees have completed are categorized into Development of New Technologies, Conversion of difficult castings into cast-fabricated, Safe Working Practices, Optimization of Resources, Reduction in Out-Sourcing, Productivity improvements, Quality Improvements, Development of New Systems.

Man dies in accidental firing

Gwalior:A 25-year-old man died in alleged celebratory firing at a function organised to celebrate the birth of his daughter in Datia district.Another person was injured in the incident which took place in Igui village under the Tharet Police Station area of the district at around 11 last night.The deceased, Nandram Patwa, was hit by a bullet in the head in alleged celebratory firing by one of his relatives, Dilip Patwa, who had come to attend the function, said Tharet Police Station in-charge Ajay Singh.Dilip Patwa (30) allegedly fired two bullets from his gun and one of them hit Nandram Patwa, the father of the child. Another villager Gajendra Kushwaha (38), was hit by the second bullet, he said.Nandram Patwa was taken to the nearby Indergarh Hospital in a serious condition. Doctors there referred him to a Gwalior hospital, where he was declared dead, the officer said. The injured villager is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gwalior, Singh said.Meanwhile, Dilip Patwa, the brother-in-law of Nandram Patwa, was arrested this morning in connection with the firing, said Sub-inspector Shailendra Gujar. Further investigations were underway, the police added.

Bhopal:Launching a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Madhya Pradesh Assembly's Leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh on Tuesday alleged that the BJP is using Rs 2,000 notes for influencing Karnataka assembly elections.In a statement issued here today, Singh said that Rs 2,000 notes are falling short in supply in the market because the BJP was using it in a massive manner to affect Karnataka assembly polls. Reacting to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's statement that a conspiracy is behind Rs 2,000 notes missing from circulation, he said, "What is the Centre and the state government doing if that is the case? Who would expose the conspiracy. Currency circulation has come down in the country, public is confronting problems and the Chief Minister is trying to hide failure by making undue statements.

Fire at anupura power grid

Gwalior:A fire broke out on Tuesday in a unit of the Power Grid Corporation at Anupura here, fire brigade officials said. The whole unit, which is used for supplying electricity to Agra and Kanpur, was gutted in fire thereby causing a loss of around Rs 50 crore. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and controlled the flames.
