Mr. Charles Edward Cardwell "Charlie Boo", 68, of 1210 14th Street, Lynchburg, Va., departed this life early Saturday morning, April 14, 2018, at his residence. He was the son of the late Walter Lewis and Florence C. Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Terrell Wilson; one brother, Walter L. Carter "Doug"; and two sisters, Patricia C. Dean "Lu-Lu" and Wilma L. Turner "Bernie". He is survived by a devoted and loving wife, Frances V. Cardwell; one son, Orrin Keith Cardwell of Mableton, Ga.; two daughters, LaTanya C. McCaine (Wayne) of Kernersville, N.C. and Scharvee Z. Smith (Brian) of Cary, N.C.; two grandchildren, Bishop Oshwann and SaCarra Zhayne Smith, both of Cary, N.C.; two step-grandchildren, Lacey McCaine-Quarles (Darin) of Broomfield, Colo. and Mariah T. McCaine of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Arnetha "Poochie" C. Pitt (David) of Philadelphia, Pa. and Beverly "Be-Be" C. Huggins (Wayne) of Roanoke, Va.; one aunt, Louise Morrison; two brothers-in-law, Jimmie Robinson of Detroit, Mich. and Otis Turner (Linda) of Lynchburg, Va.; one sister-in-law, Frances R. Vaughter of Macomb, Mich., and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at Rose Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. His remains will be open to the public one hour prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will assemble at the church.
