No labourer will remain deprived in State: Shivraj

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that now no labourer will remain deprived in the State. Now all unorganised labourers who cut crops, crush ballast, work as porters etc besides farmers with less than 2 acre land will be given benefits of Government schemes.

Every poor person will get land, forest rights will be given to old landholders on forest land. Financial assistance will be provided to every leaseholder for the construction of a house under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme and Mukhya Mantri Antyodaya Yojana. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the unorganized labourers meeting organized at Bhikangaon tehsil headquarters in Khargone district on Tuesday.

Chouhan said that now self declaration and certified mode will be implemented in the interest of the poor in the state. Addressing all the collectors and district panchayat CEOs Chouhan made the announcement that if the labourer and poor gives in writing that he is not in the income tax category and is eligible for the schemes he will also be included in the unorganized labourer welfare scheme.

The CM announced to grant land pattas to over one lakh labourers in Khargone district on the occasion. He distributed land pattas to 70,000 labourers on the spot. The CM said that pucca houses will be made available to all homeless labourers in the next four years. He told that forest rights will be given to old landholders on forest land. Houses will be constructed for every patta holder under Prime Minister's Housing Scheme and Mukhya Mantri Antyodaya Yojana. This work will be completed in the next four years.

Chouhan further said that the people of the state would not have to face problems like road and electricity. State government is paying focus on making land for houses available to poor persons and electricity on priority. He said that from April 1st, registered labourers will have to make electricity bill payment on flat rate of only Rs 200 per month.

Chouhan made important announcements on the occasion in the interests of labourers. He said that now on the birth of a son/daughter in a labourer family, Rs 4 thousand will be transferred to the account of the mother when they turn 6 months/9 months old respectively.  A sum of Rs 12,000 will also be made available separately on the birth of a son/daughter. Full fees of education of children of labourers from Class I to higher education will be borne by the state government. Training will be given to women labourers for honourable profession.
