Police book 22-yr- old youth for murderous assault

Shymala Hills police have nabbed a 22-year-old youth who was among one of the miscreants involved in firing in air at Kilol Park in the evening on April 14; three accused are still absconding who have fired in air and vandalised shops at Kilol Park area.

Acting on a tip off, a youth was nabbed near Depot square who was identified as Chhotu alias Yogendra Yadav and recovered a knife from his possession.

SHO Shymala Hills police BP Rajput said that the nabbed accused has been booked earlier for extorting money and assault cases. The accused has confessed involvement in the incident and revealed names of other accused who would be nabbed.

Answering the involvement of the accused in the attack on a 45-year-old man at Roshanpura by Maulana and his aides Rajput said in the investigation the link was not found and it is possible that after the arrest of remaining accused more revelations would be made which could help in the investigation of both the incidences.

After the incident four teams were formed to nab the accused and nabbed the accused on Monday.

A complaint was lodged by Shivratan Prasad Agrawal who runs a hotel near Kilol Park regarding 3-4 persons who came with sharp edged weapons and country made pistol and vandalized shops of the area and fired in the air and escaped the spot.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation police registered a case under sections 294, 336, 427, 190, 506 and 34 of the IPC and 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
