All set for ‘Chandanotsavam’ today

Timings for VVIPs regulated to avoid inconvenience to common devotees

The temple of Lord Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy has been decked up to receive devotees for the annual Chanadanotsavam festival from the early hours of Wednesday.

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao inspected the arrangements made for the festival, along with temple Executive Officer Ramachandra Mohan, on Tuesday. The Minister said palm leaf tents were erected to provide shade to devotees outside the temple complex. Buttermilk and water would be provided to devotees in the queue lines. The timings for darshan by VVIPs has been regulated to avoid inconvenience to common devotees.

Devotees coming under ‘Protocol’ category would be allowed between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. and VIPs would be allowed between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. He appealed to these devotees to cooperate with the temple administration by coming for darshan according to the time schedules.

Special buses

RTC is operating special buses for the convenience of devotees. A total of 150 special buses will be operated from various parts of the city and district apart from Vizianagaram from the early hours of Wednesday. A total of 36 buses will also be operated from Gosala and Adavivaram to Simhachalam hilltop, according to Regional Manager G. Sudesh Kumar. Ten special buses will be operated from Adavivaram to Vizianagaram, 16 from Adavivaram to Old Post Officeand 16 buses from Adavivaram to Tagarapuvalasa. Sixteen buses will be operated from Gosala to Kothavalasa/Chodavaram and Devarapalle, 32 from Gosala to Anakapalle, 16 from Gosala to Scindia, 28 buses from Gosala to RTC Complex/RK Beach and Old Post Office and 16 from Gosala to Maddilapalem.
