Badami CM Siddaramaiah’s second seat? Congress takes back Devaraj Patil's ticket

Congress has rescinded its decision to field Dr Devaraj Patil from the Badami constituency, fuelling speculation that Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah may choose it as his second seat.

Though Siddaramaiah has vehemently denied this, Congress sources said the CM had been asked by the high command to choose between Chamundeshwari and Badami constituencies.

With Chamundeshwari likely to be a close contest and with JD(S) going after it full throttle, it won’t be a surprise if Siddaramaiah opts for Badami as his second seat.
