Guj CM asks collectors to visit field, work for poor

Vijay today directed all the district collectors and development officers to put in efforts to complete the ongoing works in their areas by conducting site visits twice a week.

Addressing collectors and district development officers at a conference in Gandhinagar, the told them to ensure that the poor and downtrodden citizens do not suffer in getting their work done, stated an official release.

"Our government is committed to uproot corruption. In order to get first hand information about the ongoing works, I urge you to conduct site visits in your areas twice a week. We can improve the system by this method of getting direct feedback from the public," the release quoted the CM as saying.

"It is expected from you to bring in a transparent system to ensure that poor and downtrodden are not forced to pay a single rupee to get their legitimate work done," he said.

The directed the officers to work in collaboration with respective district superintendents of police to thwart any attempt of diluting the social harmony in the society, the release said.
