James Dalton "Jim" Bilbra James Dalton "Jim" Bilbra of Hughesville, Maryland and Lovingston, died on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Hospice of Charles County, Maryland. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on June 2, 1941, Jim was orphaned at five years old, along with two half-sisters. Adopted by Robert and Luna Bilbra, he had one step-sister, Barbara Nell Bilbra Parry, deceased in 1963. Jim left Nashville at age 18 and joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Andrews AFB for over three years, where he met Carole, to whom he was married for 55 years. His career, chosen and learned while in the Air Force, was as an electrician and in 1967, he returned to Andrews as a civilian, rising to Foreman of Interior Electric there until his retirement in 1992. Once retired, Jim spent 25 years enjoying his life. He built a home in Nelson County, did flea marketing and made many friends. He also enjoyed pleasant times in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. He loved hunting and for 45 years straight hunted with a small group of friends on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He is survived by his sons, Randy and Rick; in-laws, Braden and Cyndi; granddaughter, Rachel; numerous nephews and nieces from his wife's side, nieces of his two half-sisters, beloved niece and family and best friend in Nashville, and countless friends in Maryland and Virginia. He said many times that he had had a very good life. A memorial is planned for Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 1 p.m. at American Legion Post 238, Hughesville, Maryland. Jim will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
