Minor raped by relative in Baleswar

Close on the heels of a four-year-old girl being raped in the Nilagiri area of Baleswar district, an incident of a Class VIII girl allegedly raped by her relative in the Khaira area of the same district has come to the fore.

Police have arrested one Jagabandhu Mallik (18) for his alleged involvement in the incident.

According to reports, the minor girl was raped by Jagabandhu at Sujhagada village under the Khaira police limits on April 13 after he found her alone. A police complaint was lodged by the family members of the victim in this regard on the next day.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested Jagabandhu. His medical examination was conducted at the Baleswsar District Headquarters Hospital on Tuesday.
