The toss will happen at 19:30, as expected.
Dugout news:
Kolkata: Having recorded a convincing 71-run victory in their last match, they would be keen to continue with the winning combination.
Rajasthan: No change expected although the form of opener D'Arcy Short and all-rounder Ben Stokes is a cause for concern.
Players to watch out:
Shivam Mavi (KKR): The Under-19 fast bowler packs lot of pace in his sinewy frame. Consistently clocking speeds of over 140kmph, he is growing in stature with every game and looks a good prospect not only for Kolkata but also for India.
Rahul Tripathi (RR): The 27-year-old right handed batsman has not exactly fired for Rajasthan but he showed glimpses of his abilities in the last match smashing 14 runs off five balls. One of the top run-getters (391 in 14 innings, strike rate 146.44) for last year's finalists Rising Pune Supergiants, Tripathi is a delight to watch when he gets going.
The toss will happen at 19:30, as expected.
Venue: Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Batsmen will have to be cautious at this big ground because their lofted shots, which would clear boundaries at smaller grounds, will land in fielders' hands here.
Trivia: Rajasthan Royals have won 9 matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, in a row. If they win today, they will level the current record of 10 matches held jointly by Mumbai Indians (at Wankhede stadium) and the Chennai Super Kings (at M Chidambaram stadium).
With both teams coming into the game on the back of victories in their previous outings, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be looking keep the momentum going as they take on each other at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
The Royals will once again look to their explosive opener Sanju Samson who blew apart the RCB bowling attack in their last outing, scoring 92 off just 45 balls.
KKR will be hoping Andre Russell can replicate his performance from their previous outing against DD where he scored a quick fire 41 off just 12 deliveries.
All eyes will also be on Sunil Narine who will look to reclaim the purple cap from Mayank Markande, who leads the Caribbean spin king by just one wicket.
RR will be hoping their heavy investment on pacer Jaydev Unadkat begins paying dividends soon, especially against the KKR opening duo of Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine. Unadkat has picked up just 2 wickets in this edition of the IPL so far.
