Manchester United cemented their hold on second in the Premier League with a workmanlike 2-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Chris Smalling opened the scoring after 28 minutes by tapping home Jesse Lingard’s cross following good work from Ander Herrera.

Second-half substitute Romelu Lukaku then made the game safe with a wonderful finish after latching on to Paul Pogba’s through-ball as Jose Mourinho’s side picked up a well-earned three points.
