BHUBANESWAR: The discussion of the joint forum of agitating block grant teachers in school and colleges with the government failed on Tuesday.
After a meeting with finance minister Shashi Bhusan Behera, school and mass education minister Badri Narayan Patra and higher education minister Ananta Das, joint forum leader Prakash Mohanty said the government is non-committal on their demand of withdrawal of the controversial affidavit proposed by the government.

The government has made an affidavit a pre-condition that block grant teachers have to file swearing that they will never stage protest against the government or approach court regarding grievances if they are considered for full grant-in-aid.

Mohanty said the teachers will go ahead with their plan of a mass rally on Wednesday where they will decide their future course of action.
