Abhay Karandikar takes charge as director of IIT Kanpur

Karandikar, who took charge as the director on Wednesday, will be holding the post for a period of five years.
New Delhi: Abhay Karandikar has taken charge as the director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, thereby, replacing its officiating director Manindra Agrawal.

Agrawal will be taking on the role of a deputy director at the institute.

“I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, students and alumni to take the institute to greater heights. I am confident that with everyone’s support, we can make IIT Kanpur globally competitive,” said Karandikar.

President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the appointment of Karandikar as the director of the institute for a period of five years with effect from April 18, stated a release issued by the institute.
