Biju death anniv observed in Paradip

The Biju Patnaik Smruti Sansada (BPSS) and the Eastern India Oil Refinery Workers’ Union observed the 21st death anniversary of legendary Biju Patnaik organising various activities here on Tuesday.

Members of both organisations led by their president Santosh Kumar Pattnaik garlanded the statue of Bijubabu. The members conducted a plantation drive and distributed fruits and clothes to the patients at the Paradip and Kujang hospitals.

A memorial meeting was also held in which senior journalist Sriram Dash, BJD spokesperson Sulochana Das, Women and Child Protection Commission Member Mandakini Kar and ‘Parada’ editor Saroj Kumar Pattnaik were guests of honour and spoke about the life and achievements of Biju Patnaik.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of debate and drawing competitions. Thousands of people from different villages of Kujang and nearby Paradip were present.
