Grove City police are investigating whether two armed robberies that occurred April 6 were committed by the same group of suspects.
Police responded about 8:54 p.m. April 6 to a residence in the 2400 block of English Turn Drive where a woman said she and her daughter had just been robbed by three men carrying handguns.
The woman said she and her daughter were driving home when they noticed another vehicle following close behind them, according to reports. The woman said she pulled into an alley behind her house, but the other vehicle did not follow.
She opened her garage and pulled her car inside. After exiting the car, the woman opened the back door to retrieve a backpack she uses for work from the back seat.
The victim said when she got back out of the car, the three men with guns were standing in her garage, demanding her purse, reports stated.
The woman's daughter, who had also gotten out of the car, attempted to duck behind the vehicle and call 911 on her cellphone. One of the suspects put a gun to the girl's head, grabbed her phone and began pulling on her purse and demanding she give it to him, reports stated. The purse was slung around the girl's neck and shoulder and would not come off. The suspect pushed the daughter to the ground and fled on foot through the alley, according to reports.
The woman threw her backpack at one of the other suspects and began kicking at him as he shoved her into the back seat of her car. The other two suspects then fled the garage heading westbound through the alley, reports stated. The woman immediately called police.
The suspects made off with the backpack, a laptop computer, a lunch box and the girl's cellphone, according to reports.
Officers arrived and set up a perimeter and a K9 unit was requested, but no suspects were found.
The woman described the suspects as being dressed in black hoodies with black pants and one wore a mask that covered his entire face except for his eyes, reports stated. She said she believed he was a white male in his late teens or early 20s.
She said the second suspect was a Hispanic or light-skinned black male who was thin and in his 20s, according to reports.
Neither the mother or daughter could give a description of the third suspect.
While officers were taking their report, police were dispatched to a second robbery that occurred in the 4300 block of Crestwick Court.
A woman told police she had arrived home at 9:10 p.m. and was sitting in her car when she was approached by a young male suspect accompanied by three other males. The first suspect demanded she give him her purse, before he grabbed it.
She said she struggled with the suspect and he pulled her from the vehicle and managed to get the purse from her, according to reports.
The suspects walked to another vehicle, in which they had apparently driven to the scene. One of the suspects turned around, picked up the keys to the woman's car and got into her vehicle, reports stated.
The woman said she stood in front of her car and as the suspect drove away, he struck her, knocking her to the ground, according to reports. She said the other suspects entered the second vehicle and left the area. The woman was not able to give a description of the suspects' vehicle.
The suspects, described as wearing black clothing and carrying guns, stole her car and cellphone.
The woman sustained scrapes and bruises, reports stated. Jackson Township paramedics came to the scene and evaluated her, but the woman said she did not want to go to the hospital.
One male juvenile has been charged with aggravated robbery in connection to one of the incidents, although police are continuing their investigation in an attempt to identify other suspects.
