A sessions court here today sentenced a man to 10 years in jail for raping a minor three years ago.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Om Prakash Srivastava sentenced Roshan Kumar after convicting him of various offences under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on him.
Additional Public Prosecutor Rajesh Kumar Sinha said Roshan Kumar had on July 28, 2015 allured an eight-year-old girl to a desolate place and raped her.
The convict and the victim were the residents of Bauri village under Kashichak police station of Nawada district, the APP said, adding that an FIR was lodged the same day on the complaint of victim's mother.
