The concert portion of the Palm Coast Art League's annual Picnic & Pops event that had been scheduled for April 15 will be rescheduled, though a makeup date has not been set.
The fundraiser for Palm Coast Arts Foundation was to feature a concert by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and was moved from Central Park at Town Center in Palm Coast to the covered music pavilion at Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona late last week because of an unfavorable weather forecast. However, the concert had to be scrubbed after strong thunderstorms Sunday afternoon drenched the stage from which the orchestra was to perform.
Guests who arrived anyway were informed that the concert had been postponed but were given the option of remaining for the "picnic" portion — a catered dinner with all the trimmings. About 50 to 60 people took them up on it.
A new date for the concert will be announced as soon as the arts foundation is notified of the symphony's availability.
