Director-General of Police RP Sharma on Tuesday placed Brahmapur Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Rajendra Kumar Munda under suspension with immediate effect on charge of gross misconduct.

Munda was travelling in the Purulia-Villupuram Express train on Monday (April 16) without ticket. When the TTE found him travelling without ticket, he asked him to vacate the seat. However, on the IIC’s instigation some GRP personnel assaulted the TTE, leaving him grievously injured, according to a State police Press release.

During the suspension period, Munda will remain under the disciplinary control of the Railway and Coastal Security, Cuttack ADG.
