    India, UK to enhance defence, cyber security cooperation

    India and the United Kingdom (UK) on Wednesday agreed to further enhance their cooperation in defence and cyber security.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his British counterpart Theresa May have agreed to further enhance their cooperation to promote international security and stability in cyberspace through a framework that recognises the applicability of international law to State behaviour in a free, open, peaceful and secure cyberspace.

    "In 2015, we (India and the UK) pledged a new Defence and International Security Partnership (DISP) to make security and defence a cornerstone of our relationship," the joint statement shared by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), read. (ANI)

    Indian investments to create thousands of UK jobs 

    The British government today announced a new India-UK trade partnership to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit here, which comes with a huge boost for the country's economy.

    The UK's Department for International Trade (DIT) said a range of new Indian investments worth more than 1 billion pounds will create or safeguard 5,750 British jobs for the economy as part of the new partnership, which builds on the recommendations of the Joint Trade Review (JTR) between the two countries which concluded earlier this year. (PTI)
