NSW police arrest man who allegedly drunk drove to Sydney police station

A man who allegedly drove drunk to a Sydney police station to report for bail conditions while his licence was suspended will remain behind bars.
Emmanuel Hatzistamatis did not appear in Sutherland Local Court today, instead a legal aid representative appeared on his behalf.
Police allege the 57-year-old was more than four times over the legal drinking limit when he drove his vehicle to Kogarah Police Station yesterday to report as part of his bail conditions, on a previous drink-driving charge.
Police allege he parked the vehicle in a police-only car space and staggered into the station, after driving on a suspended licence.
They allege he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.226. The legal alcohol limit in New South Wales is 0.05.
He was charged with driving on a suspended licence and driving with a high-range PCA, second offence and breach of bail.
The matter will return to court on April 23.
