India today filed the second round of written pleadings in the International Court of Justice, ICJ in the Kulbhusan Jadhav case.
The Ministry of External Affairs said, in keeping with the order of ICJ of 17th January this year, India has submitted its reply in the court. The Ministry said, it remains committed to making all possible efforts to secure and protects the rights of Kulbhusan Jadhav.
It may be recalled that India first approached the Court on 8th May last year for egregious violation of the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963 by Pakistan in the matter.
The Court had on 18th May last year indicated provisional measures as requested by India and passed an order obligating Pakistan to not carry out the sentence that was awarded Mr Jadhav through a farcical trial by the Military Court of Pakistan.
