The Four Corners Arts Center will present classical guitarist Hiroya Tsukamoto on Sunday April 22 at 2 p.m. at the Meeting House. Tsukamoto is a guitarist and composer originally from Kyoto, Japan. He began playing banjo when he was 13 years old. In 2000, he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. Since then, he has been performing internationally. This included appearances with his group at Blue Note in New York and he released five albums as a leader. He recently performed on Japanese National TV program (NHK-TV). Tsukamoto has developed unique acoustic music which is sometimes described as “Cinematic acoustic music”

In addition to a concert, Tsukamoto will be offering a pre-concert workshop from 12:30-1:30 p.m. This workshop will offer finger-style guitar, chords and a folk song to play as a solo guitarist. The intent of this process is to help improve practice techniques for musicians who may not take regular lessons. The cost of the workshop is $30 and it comes with a free ticket to the concert. Please bring your own instrument.

Tickets are $15 in advance online or by phone and $20 at the door. Cash, check or credit cards accepted. Visit FourCornersArts.org and click “Concerts” to buy tickets and register for workshop.
